About Mrs. Stinson
Another summer has come and gone with the start of a brand new school year. I am so excited to be back again this year teaching the computer classes at SSM along with the computer classes at Holy Family. My name is Cindy Stinson and I will be teaching all grade levels in the computers lab. I have spent many hours this past summer creating the new SSM Parish and School Website. I hope you have found that it is more friendly and informative than what we had in the past. If you have any suggestions or comments, please feel free to send me a message on my contact page.
I have been part of the Technology Team at SSM since my oldest daughter was in Kindergarten in 1997. Up to last year, the role that I played as part of the Technology Team was mostly behind the scenes, keeping the equipment up to date, introducing new technology throughout the building and working with the PowerSchool Student Management Program that is used by the school. I can say we have definitely come a very long way since my beginning days as an SSM school parent.
This year, we have some new and exciting things happening all around the school using technology. Last year, I wrote a grant to the Catholic Education Foundation and was awarded a grant to purchase 20 new I-Pad for use in the classrooms. They will be set up in two sets of ten that can be used a part of classroom instruction. Hopefully, this is just the beginning of being able to get these wonderful tool into our school. We also received a generous donation from a parish family. I was also able to purchase some I-Pods to be used by our Kindergarten students as well as for special projects throughout the building.
I have always had a great love of working with computers and learning about new technology. My goal this year is to collaborate with the staff to find ways to bring more technology into our classrooms. I look forward to working with all of your children and am hoping that computer class turns into one of your child’s favorite classes.
